Thriving In Smaller Markets
We sat down with the PR and Communications Manager of Industrious, a coworking brand that has made its mark in the US coworking industry. She shares more about their new premium coworking space in Scottsdale's luxury shopping destination, and how Industrious made it work.
Industrious is the largest premium flexible workplace provider in the U.S. with more than 65 locations across 40 cities. Our product offerings are intended to support companies of all sizes and stages, ranging from traditional coworking seats, private offices, enterprise-level suites, and tenant experience management solutions for entire buildings.
Industrious is hyper-focused on providing its members with an elevated workplace experience and our community managers take care of members’ day-to-day needs so that they can focus on running their business. Beyond inspiring workspaces that are thoughtfully-designed to increase productivity, Industrious memberships are all-encompassing, including everything from high-speed internet access, unlimited color printing, fully-stocked cafe with craft food and beverage options, and access to its national network with the ability to work out of any location as needed.
It's important to us that we be in locations that can help deliver an amazing workplace experience to our members. Being in a mall, Fashion Square in particular, really nails that. It’s the obvious things, like accessibility, plenty of free on-site parking, and the food court, but also things like being next to an Apple Store or a Nordstrom. The ability to quickly pop out and run errands without losing too much valuable time at work is a game-changer. Our members recognize this as well — Industrious Scottsdale — Fashion Square reached near complete occupancy just 10 weeks after opening.
Industrious also believes in being a partner to landlords in today’s new era of commercial real estate. Our Fashion Square location is the first of many in collaboration with Macerich, one of the country’s largest shopping center owners and operators. We're going to see more and more coworking locations appear in retail environments across all submarkets. Landlords are becoming increasingly concerned about what to do with 40,000 square-feet of retail space — coworking is the next viable option.
Our professional atmosphere and hospitality-driven, member-first approach attracts a more sophisticated clientele than your typical flexible workplace provider. The average maturity of a company that occupies Industrious is 12-13 years and the average age of a member is 38. We have reshaped the concept of coworking into scalable solutions for companies of all sizes and stages accommodating everyone from solopreneurs to enterprise-level members. Across the country, Industrious members include large, well-known companies including Pfizer, Hytt, Airbus, Pandora, Lyft, and Pinterest.
Industrious locations have an elegant and professional design, adorned with high-quality materials including marble tabletops and Herman Miller chairs, for example. Beyond the physical workspace, premium also defines the experience we provide to our members. Our highly-attentive community managers do an exceptional job of catering to our members, developing engaging programming, and fostering a warm and welcoming sense of community. We pride ourselves on the personal connection we forge with each member and work to anticipate unknown needs to ensure they feel taken care of. We also offer meaningful events; for example, lunch-and-learns on how to raise capital for your company, creativity stations to make personalized greeting cards for someone that has an impact on your life for International Day of Happiness, networking happy hours with craft cocktails, and more.
